Honest Winchester Pricing, Wherever You Live

Winchester Roofing, Winchester Siding, and Winchester Windows are one family-owned team, and we bring our small-town Winchester pricing wherever we go — including here in Loudoun County. We add a modest charge to cover the drive from Winchester, nothing more. No markup for your zip code, no inflated “local” rates — just the same honest, fair pricing we’d give a neighbor back home.

The process is the same too. We come out for a full inspection, take photos of everything we find, and follow up with a detailed written estimate covering the products, materials, and warranty. Once you approve it, we schedule the work — the same way we would for a homeowner in Winchester.

Local Know-How · Loudoun County

Window replacement engineered for Loudoun County’s architecture

Replacing windows in Loudoun County is never one-size-fits-all.

Historic fit & true proportions

Leesburg · Waterford · Middleburg

In downtown Leesburg, Waterford, and Middleburg, preserving exterior sightlines matters most. We match authentic divided-lite grid patterns (Colonial, Prairie, and Perimeter) and use shadow-grooved sash welds that echo historic wood joinery. Where a historic review board requires wood or wood-clad units, we can quote Marvin wood and fiberglass windows instead of vinyl.

Sun & wind exposure out west

Purcellville · Round Hill · Hamilton

Homes on the open ridges of Western Loudoun face heavy wind loads and big temperature swings. We install custom-measured Vinylmax Edison windows with IdeaSeal™ triple weatherstripping and effortless pivot balances, cutting air infiltration and rattling sashes.

HOA-ready submissions

Brambleton · Ashburn Farm · South Riding

HOA committees in these communities want exact exterior trim matches and consistent grid patterns. We prepare your architectural submission packet with product cross-sections, color chips, and grid specifications so the committee has everything it needs up front.

The Issue

In Loudoun County, failing windows mean windblown drafts, wasted energy, and compromised curb appeal.

From open acreage and exposed ridges in Purcellville, Round Hill, and Middleburg to master-planned neighborhoods built throughout the late 1990s and 2000s in Ashburn, Broadlands, and Brambleton, Loudoun County homes experience window failure in three very clear ways:

  • Wind-driven drafts across western ridges: Homes situated on the rolling hills and open pastures of Western Loudoun take the full brunt of sustained seasonal wind loads. Aging weatherstripping, failing sash interlocks, and worn balances cause windows to rattle, allowing cold mountain air to pour directly into living areas and driving heating costs upward.
  • Premature seal failure in 1990s–2000s developments: In communities across Ashburn, South Riding, and Leesburg, original builder-grade vinyl and wood-composite windows have reached the end of their functional lifespan. Fogged, hazy glass — where moisture and mineral deposits are permanently trapped between panes — indicates the insulated glass unit (IGU) seal has failed, completely eliminating the window’s insulating value.
  • Strict HOA compliance hurdles: Upgrading failing windows in high-density Loudoun communities requires adherence to rigorous architectural review board guidelines. Replacing one or two broken sashes at a time leaves homes with mismatched grid patterns, inconsistent frame colors, and piecemeal warranties that can draw HOA violation notices.

Replacing windows one unit at a time is an expensive cycle that never truly secures your home’s thermal envelope. As a licensed Class A Residential Building Contractor, we help Loudoun County homeowners evaluate the entire building envelope, providing custom-fit replacement windows engineered to withstand severe wind loads, meet strict HOA design standards, and deliver lasting comfort season after season.

Signs it’s time to replace your windows

Drafts around a window frame

Drafts around the frame

Air movement near a closed window means the seal has failed, and your heating and cooling system is working overtime to compensate.

Fogged, cloudy window glass

Fogged or cloudy glass

Moisture between the panes means the insulated glass unit’s seal has failed. It can’t be cleaned away because it’s trapped between the layers of glass.

Window sash that sticks or won’t stay open

Sashes that stick or won’t stay open

Worn balances and hardware are a security concern as much as an inconvenience.

Outside noise coming through an old window

Outside noise you didn’t used to hear

Aging glass and worn weatherstripping let in more sound over time, not just air and temperature.

Sun-faded furniture near a window

Fading furniture, flooring, or artwork

Older glass does little to block UV, and prolonged sun exposure fades everything in its path.

Rising energy bill from inefficient windows

Energy bills that keep climbing

If your heating and cooling costs feel disconnected from actual usage, failing windows are one of the most common hidden culprits.

The Solution

The Vinylmax Edison Series: one window, built to last

We chose Edison because the construction details most homeowners never see are the ones that determine whether a window lasts 10 years or 30. Here are the standard features built into every one. On exposed Western Loudoun lots, the IdeaSeal™ triple weatherstripping and four-point fusion-welded frame are what keep wind-driven air out.

1

Cove molded sash detail

Replicates the look of classic wood windows.

2

Bio-Maxx composite locks

50% stronger than standard die-cast hardware, lead-free and color-true.

3

Dual Function sloped sill

Keeps sashes securely in place and water flowing away from your home.

4

Shadow grooved sash welds

Replicate the classic look of mitered wood corners.

5

IdeaSeal™ triple protection

Integral interlock, sill compression bulb seal, and multiple rows of weatherstripping.

6

Full balance covers

Hide internal systems while eliminating unsightly visible sash stops.

7

Integral lift and pull rails

Ergonomically engineered for smooth, appealing operation.

8

Night latches

Restrict sash movement for your family’s safety and security.

9

Effortless pivot balance

Stainless steel coils make operation smooth, effortless, and whisper-quiet.

10

Multi-chambered vinyl

Maintenance-free with superior strength and thermal efficiency.

11

Ergonomic tilt latches

Larger, easier-to-grip surface for cleaning or ventilation.

12

Four-point fusion welding

Guarantees frames and sashes are always strong and square.

Choosing the right glass package for your home

Standard IntelliGlass Low-E/Argon glass delivers strong energy efficiency out of the box. For homes with heavy south or west sun exposure, the IntelliGlass X, N, and C variants adjust solar heat gain to reduce overheating in specific rooms. Triple pane (IntelliGlass X3 or Plus) uses three layers of glass instead of two, rated up to 50% more energy efficient than dual pane, and cuts down on outside noise and UV fading. We’ll walk through your home’s specific sun exposure and recommend the package that makes sense — not just the most expensive option.

Hardware color choices

Hardware is color-matched to your window interior — Modern White, Modern Tan, or Modern Bronze (standard on Cavalier Oak and Colonial Cherry). Upgrade to the Sentry System, which integrates the lock and tilt functions into a single housing for smoother, more secure operation.

Spacer system

Every Edison insulated glass unit uses an rTPS (Reactive ThermoPlastic Spacer) — a one-piece, multi-tasking spacer system chosen for its unmatched performance and long-term reliability.

Grid pattern

Grid patterns showcase your home’s architectural style, from traditional Colonial to a clean Perimeter look.

Grid profile

Two profile options, each giving a different stylistic depth to the individual glass panes.

Flat grid profile, 5/8 inch

Flat — 5/8″ (white & tan only)

Georgian grid profile, 3/4 inch

Georgian — 3/4″ (color matched)

Every Edison window frame is multi-chambered and fusion-welded, which traps still air inside the frame itself to stop heat transfer — the same basic principle a foam-filled frame relies on. We can add foam insulation inserts as an upgrade, but honestly, for most homes the added cost doesn’t return enough extra efficiency to be worth it. See our full answer in the FAQ below.

Marvin Windows

Marvin windows: wood, aluminum & fiberglass — a different system than vinyl

Alongside Vinylmax, we also install Marvin — a fully customizable window built from natural wood, an aluminum-clad exterior, fiberglass, or a combination of each, rather than vinyl. It’s not a step up from Vinylmax so much as a different material system altogether, suited to homeowners who want a natural wood interior, a historically accurate profile, or the most configurable window on the market. Here’s how their three collections break down.

Marvin Essential double hung window

Essential

All-fiberglass construction — 8x stronger than vinyl, with a factory acrylic finish that resists fading, chalking, and peeling. Best for homeowners who want fiberglass durability at the most accessible Marvin price point.

Material: Ultrex® fiberglass exterior and interior

Interior colors: 4 options

Exterior colors: 6 options

Marvin Elevate double hung window

Elevate

Ultrex fiberglass exterior paired with a natural wood interior — the same 8x-stronger-than-vinyl frame with the warmth of real wood inside. Best for blending long-term, low-maintenance performance with a traditional wood interior.

Material: Ultrex® fiberglass exterior with wood interior

Interior colors: 4 options

Exterior colors: 6 options

Marvin Ultimate double hung window

Ultimate

Marvin’s most customizable tier — available as an all-wood window or with an extruded-aluminum exterior over a wood interior. Ogee, ovolo, or square profiles for historic matching. Best for historic homes, custom architectural matching, or homeowners who want the highest level of design control.

Material: Wood exterior + interior, or extruded aluminum exterior with wood interior

Interior colors: 14 options + custom

Exterior colors: 4 options + custom (wood) · 19 options + custom (aluminum)

All three collections carry Marvin’s manufacturer warranty, with PG50 performance ratings and ENERGY STAR options available across the line; Elevate and Ultimate can also be built to Hurricane Zone 3 impact ratings where coastal-grade protection is needed. We install both Vinylmax and Marvin, and can help you decide which material system is the right fit for your home.

FAQ

Window & door questions from Loudoun County homeowners

Honest answers, from the family that’s been doing this in Winchester for over 25 years.

What window brand does Winchester Windows install?▾
We install the Vinylmax Edison Series, a vinyl replacement window built with multi-chambered fusion-welded frames, high-performance glass packages, and a Lifetime Limited Warranty. It’s manufactured in the USA and ranked among the Window + Door Top 100 Manufacturers.
Does the warranty really cover accidental glass breakage?▾
Yes, for the life of the time you own and occupy your home. If a pane of glass breaks by accident, it’s covered, which is unusual in this industry. A few categories are excluded, including patio doors, specialty glass, garden windows, and damage from acts of God, so we’ll walk you through exactly what’s covered when we quote your project.
What’s the difference between dual pane and triple pane windows?▾
Triple pane glass uses three layers instead of two, which makes it up to 50% more energy efficient than dual pane. It also reduces outside noise and cuts down on furniture and flooring fading from UV exposure. We’ll help you decide whether the upgrade makes sense for your home and budget.
How long does window replacement take?▾
Each Edison window is custom-built to your exact opening size, so there’s typically a manufacturing lead time before installation. Once your windows arrive, installation for a typical home is usually completed in one to two days.
How much do replacement windows cost?▾
Cost depends on the number of windows, style, glass package, and any custom color or grid options. We provide a free, itemized estimate so you know exactly what you’re getting before you commit, with financing available for qualified homeowners.
What patio door do you install, and is it covered by the same warranty as the windows?▾
We install the Vinylmax Elegance patio door, built by the same manufacturer as our Edison windows. It’s covered by Vinylmax’s limited lifetime warranty on hardware, screens, and frame for as long as you own your home. One difference to know: the lifetime accidental glass breakage benefit on our windows does not extend to patio doors, per Vinylmax’s warranty terms.
What entry door options do you offer?▾
We install ProVia entry doors across three lines: Signet fiberglass, our most popular option with the widest range of styles and a 15-year finish warranty; Ascent fiberglass, with custom sizing to the 1/8 inch and a 10-year finish warranty; and Legacy steel, built with 20-gauge steel for maximum security and a 10-year finish warranty. We’ll help you choose based on your home’s style and your priorities.
Do you offer foam-filled window frames?▾
We don’t push foam-filled frames. Every Edison window frame is multi-chambered and fusion-welded, which traps still air inside the frame to stop heat transfer, the same basic principle a foam-filled frame relies on. Foam does improve on a plain hollow frame somewhat and helps with condensation and noise, but injecting it after the frame is built isn’t always consistent and can weaken the fusion-welded corners over time. We can add foam insulation inserts as an option, but for most homes we don’t believe the added cost returns enough extra efficiency to be worth it.
Do you really serve Loudoun County, or is this just a landing page?▾
We genuinely do. We’re a Winchester-based crew extending our service area to Loudoun County, and we’re upfront that this means scheduling in blocks rather than same-day service. If you book an estimate, a real member of our team will be there.
Does the distance affect pricing?▾
We aim to keep pricing consistent with our Winchester-area jobs by scheduling Loudoun County estimates and installations in grouped blocks. Any travel-related considerations, if they apply to your specific project, will be itemized clearly in your estimate, not hidden in the total.
Do you have a local office in Loudoun County?▾
Not yet. We’re based in Winchester, VA, and currently serve Loudoun County with traveling crews. We’d rather tell you that plainly than pretend to a local presence we don’t have.
